SWAP at the SHOP

New in 2025

Join one or join all three of our new SWAPs – Memory Dex, ATC cards, and greeting cards. One SWAP will occur each month.

The first swap will be the Memory Dex SWAP and will start in February. This SWAP will follow Yvonne’s class every three months, i.e., February, May, August, etc.

The second SWAP will be the ATC Card SWAP and will start in March. This SWAP will follow Barbara’s class every three months, i.e., March, June, September, etc.

The third SWAP will be the Greeting Card SWAP and will start in April. This SWAP will follow Wayne’s class every three months, i.e., April, July, October, etc.

What is a SWAP?

In a SWAP you will make a quantity of the same design (greeting card, ATC Card, or Memory Dex). They do not need to be exact, but should follow the same theme. For example if you use a collection kit, you may have to use two different pieces of paper or different ephemera items on a set of cards to have enough for your group of cards. But they all should be the same sentiment theme such as birthday or sympathy. The quantity is determined by the number of people that participate. There are no themes for the designs. You are welcome to create any theme that you want.

How to Join

The SWAP groups will be posted as an event in Meetup. Find the SWAP you wish to participate in and sign up through Meetup. Each SWAP will be announced approximately 6-8 weeks (if possible) prior to the actual SWAP date. Each SWAP will end approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the SWAP date in order that we can assign groups if needed and let everyone know how many SWAP items to make. We will not have any group larger than 12 participants (this includes you).

The Rules

To help keep this as smooth and simple as possible, we had to create a few rules and there will be no deviation from these.

  1. You must be registered on Meetup. You will not be able to add a guest to your registration for the swaps. If you are not on Meetup now is the time to join.
  2. All communication will be done through Meetup for each swap so make sure notifications are turned on so you receive the Meetup messages.
  3. Once the swap event has closed, you will not be able to change your sign up.
  4. Once we have closed the swap event, we will determine if there needs to be more than one group for the swap and we will send a message through Meetup to everyone who signed up for the swap letting you know who is in which group.
  5. The swaps will take place after the classes mentioned above (stay after the class or stop in the store at that time).
  6. If you are not able to come to the store that day, you can drop off your swap items prior to the class. They must be in a bag clearly marked with your name on the outside. Please do not put more than one person’s swap items in a bag. You will need to come to the store within a week after the swap to pick up your swap items as we are unable to hold them for an extended period of time.
  7. If you sign up for a swap (does not matter which one) and do not participate and have two no shows, you will not be able to sign up for any future swaps for the next 12 months.
