So What Is This Meetup Thing?

Meetup is a meeting registration tool. We use it to help keep track of how many people are registered for each class. When all the seats for a particular event are filled, Meetup will begin a wait list. If someone then cancels. the next person is moved into the class. As you can can see, Meetup is a handy tool for managing our events.

To register for our events, you will need to create a Meetup account and then ask to join our Meetup group. Our group is a private group on Meetup to limit the number of spammers that affect our event attendance.

Do I have to pay for Meetup?

No. The store pays a fee to use Meetup to list our events. There are ads and offers when using Meetup. Just close any ads or offers that may be presented by Meetup.

How do I join Meetup?

1. Go to Meetup.com (or use the Meetup App on your phone). Or you can simply click any event on our event page and it will take you to Meetup.
2. Create an account. (Be sure to remember your login / password!)
3. With an account created, search for The Scrapbook Studio in Tavares, FL OR again click an event on our events page. At least one event for us will show up. Click on it. Whether you are on a single event or our main page, there will be a big red “Request to Join” button. Click it.
4. It will send a message to the store with the request to join. As a fraud protection step, we will send a message back with a question for you to answer. Reply to that message in Meetup. When we get that answer back, we will trigger to allow you into the group.

Sorry for all the hoops, but it has proven necessary over the years to protect the availability of our events.

How do I signup for a class?

To sign up for a class, simply sign in to your account on Meetup and visit our group.

Scroll through our classes and simply click the Attend button for the class or event you want to attend.

How do I know when new events are posted?

Be sure to check your settings in Meetup to receive notifications. Each time we post a class you will get a notice from Meetup that a new event has been posted. This message will be delivered via your email or if you have the Meetup App on your phone (and stay signed in), you will receive push notifications from the App.
